3 1/2 inch gauge "Tich" - stock code 1973

3 1/2 inch gauge tank locomotive to the popular "Tich" design by LBSC. First described in "Model Engineer" magazine in 1948 as a beginner's engine, the fully-detailed construction series was later released as a book which, I think, every model engineer has read at some stage (and if you haven't, you need to - it's part of your heritage!).

Silver-soldered superheated copper boiler, fed by axle pump and auxiliary hand pump in side tank. Slide valve cylinders with mechanical lubricator, Walschaert's valve gear with pole reverser in cab.

This is an older model which runs very well. In general the motion work is in good condition, with a little wear to the eccentric rods. The paintwork is functional, but could be re-done to make a smart little engine.
