Unsteamed from new, the engine rolls freely and runs on air - better in reverse than forwards, further attention to the valve setting would be of benefit.
On hydraulic test at twice working pressure the boiler appeared structurally sound, with three minor leaks showing beads of water - two on firebox stays, one on the front tubeplate. Given that the boiler has yet to be fired, these could be calked with Comsol.
