I sold this one back in 2009 - we ran it at the time, it went well. In the meantime it's sat on a bookshelf looking pretty - pictures below were taken this morning, words are from when we last had it in.
A 3 1/2 inch gauge "Rainhill", LBSC's take on Stephenson's Rocket.
This is an older engine, it's seen more polishing than running in recent years judging from the state of the brasswork. Running at a giddy 40psi working pressure, it has a club hydraulic certificate expiring in 2011 - Steve has steamed it this afternoon, other than a severely blocked blower there was little to report (although he was much taken with the hand pump, apparently it can get a jet of water halfway across our car park - don't say he doesn't take testing engines seriously).
