3 1/2 inch gauge part-built "Lilla" 0-4-0T - stock code 4260

I sold this one last year, due a change in the new owner's circumstances it's recently come back in - words and pictures as before.

For those who missed “Cackler” a month or two back, this is a part-built version to the same design, Ross Harrison’s “Lilla” based on the Port class Hunslet. It builds up into a large engine, bigger than some 5 inch gauge tank engines and is a good alternative to those looking to build a 3 ½ inch narrow gauge engine based on a prototype rather than Evans’ freelance (though otherwise excellent) “Conway”.

Work to date comprises a well-advanced chassis, cast iron cylinders machined and fitted with guide bars, crossheads, pistons and rods. There is a box of bits containing machined and part-machined bits including chimney, valve chests and some motion work, along with a silver soldered copper boiler with a twice pressure hydraulic certificate issued when it was built.

Complete with a set of drawings.
