One of the rarer designs that we see in the workshop,
“Buffalo” is the 2-8-0 variant of Martin Evans’ “Caribou” design for a
Candian switcher. I like both versions – visiting a club a couple of years
ago, I got to see a Caribou doubled up to 7 ¼ inch gauge, which made a mighty
great thing.
Work on this engine is to a good standard throughout and
comprises a complete piston-valve chassis, up to air-running stage, with a
silver-soldered copper boiler and a quantity of castings and stock material to
complete, including blanks for tender wheels, formed brass tender sides, bogie
castings and a pair of completed running boards.
The engine has been well oiled before storage, the
motionwork cleans up to bright after removing the tarnish.
Complete with set of drawings and copy of the
construction manual.
