A 3 1/2 inch gauge Alco to Don Young's "Mountaineer" design, it makes for an imposing engine at nearly 1/8 scale and a two-man lift when carrying the thing about.
Completed by a gentleman in the 1990s, it appears to have seen little use before being inherited by his daughter. In recent years it has been on display in her house and now requires recommissioning before steaming (including a thorough clean between the frames, which seem to have accumulated most of the fur of a serious-sized cat - whether by moulting or some serious accident in its running days we're not sure). The silver-soldered copper boiler by Bishop-Ellis, supplied new in 1993 and complete with its original documentation, has had a hydraulic test, with a new certificate issued by our inspector.
For some reason the lubricator lid developed an aversion to being photographed - I think it was hiding in the cab when we took the pictures.
