A venerable example of LBSC's "Miss Ten to Eight" design of a North Eastern R1. I think it's a super looking engine, but can only recall having one other, which we sold back in 2011.
This engine has come from the daughter of the late builder, she remembers it running many years ago - there is a professionally taken and printed photograph of it when new, which I suspect was some time in the 1950s.
We've pumped up the boiler to twice its 80psi working pressure - it's structurally sound and dry throughout other than a handful of leaky stays in the firebox - and run it on air, goes very well. Worth restoring, a well built engine from a different age of model engineering.
