A 3 1/2 inch gauge LMS "Royal Scot" in original un-rebuilt form. Built - as most model Royal Scots are - as a two cylinder locomotive, it's an older engine; well built and nicely painted originally, it now has a rather attractive patina to it.
The chassis runs well on air with wear evident in motionwork and valve gear commensurate with age.
On hydraulic test the boiler showed a leak from under the cladding at the barrel/throatplate junction - the cladding would need to be removed to investigate further although, with no pipework in the area, we would suspect a failed seam.
