Built to the four cylinder H.PJackson design, the engine has been unused in many years, suffering cosmetically from storage in a shed, with light rusting to brightwork. However, underneath the grime is a well made engine - fit and finish of motionwork and valve gear is to a high standard.
Boiler has a combustion chamber and two flue tube superheaters - the regulator is currently seized open and the main steam pipes are missing from the smokebox, which will need rectification/replacement before it can be tested, although a visual inspection revealed no signs of leaks or deflection of plates.
The engine appears otherwise largely complete, although missing axle pump and sight feed lubicator pipework, and spindle from the blowdown valve.
