The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued.
On test the engine steamed freely and ran in either direction - slightly better in reverse than forwards - with some wear noted in the motionwork and valve gear, the piston and valve rod glands all need repacking.
Both hand and axle pumps worked effectively on test, the injector proving decorative rather than functional.
The mechanical lubricator worked, although occasionally skipping a tooth on the ratchet - we consider adjustment rather than replacement required.
Currently only one of the four drain cocks functions - the other three require removal and cleaning.
