A 3 1/2 inch gauge Stanier 8F - a handsome engine, overlooked like most freight engines by modellers which is why the world is full of Kings and Britannias. This one is an older engine, nicely made and well detailed - it goes particularly well, there's a clip here of it running outside the workshop yesterday afternoon.

Silver soldered copper boiler, stainless steel radiant superheaters, 80psi working pressure, feed by twin axle pumps and injector with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with pole reverser in the cab, mechanical lubricator.

An ideal club engine for those who don't want the weight of a 5 inch gauge engine to lug about, complete with a pair of custom-built carrying crates and set of firing irons.
