Chassis is well built, crisply machined and runs on air nicely - fit and finish of the motionwork and valve gear very good.
Platework and the BR black "working clothes" paintwork is overall quite good.
Boiler is a silver soldered copper job - currently beyond the testing capabilites of even our industrial sized test pump, given copious leaks from the regulator bush and wet header. The latter has obviously been the subject of recent investigation, made somewhat easier courtesy of Evans' unique horizontal split smokebox design.
Overall the boiler looks in good condition - once the regulator bush and header leaks have been attended to, we would warranty it as capable of passing a hydraulic test.
