A 3 inch gauge GNR Atlantic
to LBSCs Maisie design one of his best, in my opinion (and I speak
as an ex-Maisie owner and retain a great affection for them theyre
free-steaming, feisty little critters that have an amazing turn of speed, much
like their full-sized forebears).
This one is an older engine,
paint is presentable, motion is pretty good with some wear. The silver-soldered
boiler is by Western Steam and is in good condition, fitted with a pair of
radiant superheaters. Working pressure is 80psi, feed is by axle and hand pumps.
Gunmetal cylinder with slide valves actuated by Stephensons gear, pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator. Mercifully LBSCs specified steam brake is not fitted Ive never found one that could slow the engine, nor one that didnt scald your fingers in use.
