The original engine was built by Stephenson in 1829 - it stood outside for many years in Canterbury behind some iron railings, now moved inside to the town museum.
If you haven't visited the museum you need to go; never mind "Invicta", they also have many of the original cardboard models used to animate "Ivor the Engine" along with Bagpuss and the Clangers, produced by "Small Films", the company run by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin near Canterbury in the 1960s.
