A 3 1/2 inch gauge Black 5 to LBCS's popular "Doris" design - this one was bought by a chap for his teenage son who was graduating from N-gauge railways, in good order other than needing new superheaters. Son now grown up and left home, Black 5 still needs new superheaters...

Silver soldered copper boiler (currently without superheaters), 80 psi working pressure. Gunmetal cylinders iwth piston valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with screw reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator.

Paintwork is getting tired, there are a couple of minor dings in the boiler cladding, but overall I'm impressed with this one - motionwork is nicely fitted, it pushes along very freely with little wear in the valve gear.
