2 inch scale Ruston traction engine - stock code 4214

A well-built 2 inch scale Ruston traction engine - workmanship throughout is particularly good with crisp machining and a good standard of fitting work. There is evidence that it was finished off quickly when time came to paint it - it's basically one quick coat of a not totally convincing shade of green, whilst it looks entirely respectable, the quality of engineering would amply reward a careful repaint.

Silver solder copper boiler by Western Steam, worknig pressure 80psi, feed by mechanical pump with bypass and handpump fitted in the tender. Single cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser. Mechanical lubricator. Two road speeds, winch behind nearside rear wheel.

Although there is evidence the engine has been test steamed, there is little sign of use, motionwork and gearing are as-new, the wheels are virtually unmarked. Steamed last week, it impressed with how quietly it ran and its strong performance running round the yard with a highly non-scale load (me) thoroughly enjoying the ride.
