2 inch scale Ruston traction engine (red) - stock code 4249

A 2 inch scale Ruston traction engine to Reeves' "Lincoln Lad" design. It's not had a great deal of use, paintwork is in the main pretty reasonable, a heavy hand with the red paint pot has given a somewhat flamboyant look for an agricultural engine which could be toned down a little with some judicious repainting.

Silver-soldered copper boiler, working pressure 80psi, feed by injector and mechanical pump with hand pump in the tender. Twin Ramsbottom safety valves. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser. Mechanical lubricator.

Two speed with winch fitted behind nearside rear wheel. The wheels have been discreetly fitted with rubber tyres - in the form of rubber strakes on the rear - which make the engine considerably quieter running along on the road.
