A 2 inch scale Ransome, Sim & Jefferies portable engine, the work of an experienced model engineer who built many other models, including the 5 inch gauge Standard Class 4 and Z7 ploughing engine we had in recently. A soundly made engine, with commercially built silver soldered copper boiler by Western Steam, it has had little use since completion - whilst paintwork was perhaps not the builder's forte, it runs well and would be a good candidate for a repaint into a slightly more authentic (not to say subdued) livery.
Rarely modelled, portable engines come out a nice size model in 2 inch scale - easy to handle but big enough to do make firing easy.
