2 inch scale "Pride of Penrhyn" steam wagon - stock code 4328

A "Pride of Penrhyn" steam wagon, much modified from standard to produce a reliable running engine - aesthetic concerns obviously came somewhat further down the builder's priorities.

Silver soldered copper boiler, 90psi working pressure, feed by handpump with mechanical pump driven from crankshaft. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser. Two speed transmission driving by chain to differential in back axle.

The engine has a driving truck to go with it and a set of footrests which are pretty much a necessity to drive one of these things without crippling yourself.

Complete with original assembly instructions and a variety of parts that are either spare or have been replaced with better made alternatives.
