A part-built Burrell DCC Showmans engine to Ronald
Clarke’s super-detailed “Thetford Town” design. Work to date is to a high
standard and comprises:
Professionally-built copper boiler by Bishop-Ellis,
complete with flanged hornplates
Wheels, complete with rubber tyres, machined hub caps
Gearing
Smokebox with door and locking bar, perch bracket, front axle assembly, dynamo
bracket
Rear axle complete with winch drum
Machined valve sheaves and eccentric straps
Crankshaft with flywheel, fitted into crankbox with all bearings
Part-machined cylinder block with valve chest covers, safety valves
Motion bracket with guide bars
Tender, complete with fairleads, brake shaft , crane turret and crane
Grate and ashpan
In addition there is a large quantity of unmachined
castings, flanged plates for belly tanks and a set of drawings
Current weight of the assembled engine is 130 pounds, with
another 80 pounds of loose parts.
