2 inch scale Minnie agricultural engine - stock code 11816

A 2 inch scale "Minnie" agricultural engine, scaled up from Len Mason's popular 1 inch design, serialised in "Model Engineer" magazine in 1969.

At an early stage, work to date includes:

  • Flywheel, chimney and wheel rims
  • Front axle and perch bracket
  • Set of professionally cut gears
  • Crankshaft
  • Full set of laser cut parts from Model Engineers Laser including spokes, strakes, hornplates and spectacle plate
  • Set of unmachined castings to complete with gunmetal rear hubs and cylinder
  • Commercially made boiler by John Ellis, as delivered in its original wooden crate

A large engine in this scale, its generously proportioned gears and bearings making for a robust, powerful design. We've had several through our hands over the years, one of the nicest this one which we sold way back in 2006.
