2 inch scale Fowler BB1 ploughing engine - stock code 9593

A 2 inch scale Fowler BB1 ploughing engine, an older engine that, following a boiler failure in 1994 was stripped for repair. A new boiler was ordered from Franklin & Bell in 1997, after which the engine languished, dismantled until 2018.

In the hands of a new owner it was put back together and first steamed with its new boiler following a club hydraulic test in 2019.

Tested again in the workshop here the boiler proved in excellent condition, appearing as-new inside - as expected. The engine turns over freely and runs on air, when steamed there were a multitude of fittings along with the whistle valve and regulator leaking.
