2 inch scale Fowler BB compound ploughing engine - stock code 2420

A venerable old model of a Fowler 16hp compound ploughing engine, nicely machined and well-detailed with correct dished spoke flywheel, coiling and winding gear, inclined valve chest and tailrod support on the LP cylinder. Even in 2 inch scale, ploughing engines make for mighty great machines - it's as long as a 3 inch scale Burrell sitting alongside it.

Copper boiler fed by mechanical pump. Compound cylinders with inclined slide valves actuated by Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser on footplate. Coiling and winding gear mounted beneath boiler with dog clutch drive, controlled by lever from footplate. Two speed transmission, no brakes (just like the full size engines!).

It has suffered more than its fair share of twiddling over the years, resulting in loose eccentrics and steering chains, together with a quick and dirty paint job some time ago featuring black gloss and a tar brush from initial appearances. However, underneath there is a decent (and rather rare) model waiting to be rescued.
