2 inch Clayton steam wagon - stock code 9088

A partly-dismantled 2 inch scale Clayton steam wagon to the Robin Dyer design, serialised in "Model Engineer" magazine.

The engine turns over freely by hand, the silver soldered copper boiler has had a hydraulic test - we would warranty as sound - with certificate issued for same.

Chain driven with differential fitted to the back axle, the wagon has had the useful 2:1 reduction layshaft modification with dog clutch, allowing the engine to be run out of gear.

Complete with a box body, of a size to make a useful driving seat, along with a box of assorted parts - apparently from at least two wagons, given the spare chimney and engine parts.
