An early stage 2 1/2 inch gauge LNER A3, comprising a rolling chassis and unmachined castings, including:

8 off 2 inch diameter 12 spoke wheels
8 off axleboxes
2 off tender buffer beams
Hand pump

6 off driving wheel splashers
Smokebox saddle
Chimney
Dome
Slide valves
Pair cylinders with end covers

Wheels are in cast iron, remainder in gunmetal.

Since taking the photographs, some drawings, connecting and coupling rods have come to light, which look to be for this engine.
