There is a good deal of work already done on this one - the boiler is up on its wheels, with crank and flywheel mounted. The cylinder has been partly machined, there is what appears to be a set of castings to complete the engine.
A well regarded design, it was Hughes' swansong, published in the "Model Engineer" magazine and based on measurements taken from a full-sized engine.
We've had several of these over the years, the finest was one we sold way back in 2005. An exceptionally well made example, it ran beautifully and - very unusually for an engine in this scale - had a governor that provided precise control over the engine's speed.
