1 1/2 inch scale Allchin traction engine - stock code 3911

A particularly well-built 1 1/2 inch scale Allchin to Hughes' "Royal Chester" design.

Silver soldered copper boiler, feed by injector and mechanical pump, Ramsbottom type safety valves. Gunmetal cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser on footplate, mechanical lubricator with dummy displacement lubricator mounted on the cylinder block.

The engine has been steamed at least once for its boiler test some years ago for which I've got the certificate - the chimney bears a slight witness of oil, however the smokebox is otherwise clean, the back of the smokebox door as-new, the paint on the wheels unmarked - I suspect it has done little other running other than for demonstration on compressed air.

There's a clip of the engine running on air in the workshop here.
