1 1/2 inch scale Allchin traction engine - stock code 3165

A particularly well built "Royal Chester", the work of an accomplished model engineer with many other locomotives, stationary engines and clocks to his credit, including the Simpson's & Shipton engine I sold recently. He built this engine some years ago, it has seen little use in the intervening period. It runs almost silently and is in excellent condition throughout, fit and finish of all parts is very good.

Copper silver-soldered boiler with injector and mechanical feed pump with bypass. Twin safety valves. Water gauge with blowdown and shut-off cocks, blowdown valve mounted above the foundation ring on the right hand side. Cylinder drain cocks operated from footplate, mechanical and displacement cylinder lubricators.

Single cylinder engine with Stephenson's reversing gear, four shaft configuration with two road speeds, brake and winch behind left hand rear wheel with tender-mounted fairleads for winch cable.
