A well-built Allchin traction engine, the work of a prolific model engineer who built many other locomotives, stationary engines and clocks. The engine has had little use, is in fine condition and runs virtually silently.

Silver soldered copper boiler, working pressure 90psi, feed by mechanical pump and injector. Gunmetal cylinder, slide valve actuated by Stephenson's reversing gear with pole reverser. Displacement and mechanical lubricators. Two speed transmission with differential, winch fitted behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads mounted on tender.
