A part-built Allchin traction engine which appears to have been kicking around for many years. Lots done, lots to do, workmanship is mostly pedestrian.

Work to date comprises:

  • Tender, complete with reverser and brake gear

  • Set of wheels, front axle and spud pan

  • Machined cylinder block with regulator and valve chest, slide valve and buckle

  • Differential

  • Gear guards

  • Smokebox complete with door, chmney and perch bracket

  • Grate and ashpan

  • Crankshaft, complete with valve and pump eccentric straps and sheaves, high and low speed pinions

  • Second and third shafts complete with spur gears

  • Expansion link, lifting links, pair eccentric rods

  • Safety valves

  • Connecting rod, complete with crosshead

  • Steering wheel, column, spindle and chains

  • Flywheel

  • Hornplates complete with main bearings, spectacle plates

  • Water pump

  • Steam fountain

  • Firehole door, catch and hinge

In addition there are sundry unmachined castings and small parts.
