The latest addition to our "Clubman" range of locomotives, the design of "General Gordon" was inspired by Kerr, Stuart & Company engines of the early twentieth century, themselves based on a French Decauville design.
Sharing the same well-proven boiler and running gear as its "Stafford" and "Feldbahn" stablemates, the engine offers a powerful, free-steaming club locomotive with a well proven, easy to maintain chassis.
New for "General Gordon" are fully-machined steel spoked wheels and investment cast steam valve handwheels, based on originals fitted to the Ffestiniog Railway's "Linda" - both will be fitted across our entire range of engines for 2019 production on.
The engine pictured features optional hand lined finish and nameplates (although you can have any colour or name you like - just because we wanted it in black and called "General Gordon" doesn't mean you have to. Having said that, we'd really like to finish the next one in WW1 grey livery, named "Khartoum"!)
