4 inch scale dual aspect black locomotive lamp

Locomotive lamps in the UK were used to indicate the status of trains being hauled and, in the case of a red lamp at the rear, to denote that the train is complete – they were there to assist the signalmen and operators of the railway. They were not intended to light the road ahead.

The body is an aluminium casting, CNC-machined with steel handle, finished in gloss black powder coat. The glass lens is custom made to our design, the power and colour temperature of the LEDs intended to produce a light similar to that of an original oil lamp. The base plate and internal metalwork are stainless steel.

The lamp is dual aspect, a switch in the base selects WHITE - OFF - RED.

Powered by a rechargeable battery, it provides ample capacity for a day's running. Recharging is via a USB connector in the base of the lamp using the supplied cable - a small indicator LED inside the lamp, visible through the lens, lights up red when charging, blue when fully charged.

Supplied fully assembled, ready to fit with 12 months warranty. A flat profile lamp iron is included, which can be mounted flat or bent to suit the application.
