A well-made example of the Stuart beam engine, from the collection of a
prolific local model engineer who built a wide variety of stationary engines,
locomotives, hot air engines and traction engines over a forty year period (all
of which will appear on the site as soon as I get five minutes spare to
photograph them all!). This
engine runs exceptionally smoothly and is fitted with drain cocks. It has spent
many years in an attic and would benefit from a little gentle cleaning but is
otherwise ready to run or display.
The Stuart beam engines have very modest steam requirements and will run on a
small boiler, right down to the little 2 1/4 inch diameter Stuart 500.
