Ruston Proctor tractor with driving truck - stock code 4108

A 4 inch scale model of the diminutive Ruston Proctor SD steam tractor, built to the Live Steam Models design. They come out at a good size in this scale, usefully taller and heavier than a 3 inch scale engine (making for less bending down over the controls and greater hauling capacity on the rally field) but not requiring the whole plant trailer and winch palaver of the "full-sized" 4 inch scale agricultural engines.

Steel boiler with expanded tubes, working pressure 80psi, feed by injector and crankshaft pump with bypass. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser on footplate. Mechanical lubricator. Two road speeds with differential, winch behind nearside rear wheel. The engine is fitted with rubber tyres, which give both the driver and machine an easier life on metalled surfaces.

The engine runs well, clipping along at a brisk pace in high gear and comes complete with a driving truck.
