The work of a professional locomotive builder, this is a pair of GWR 15xx tank engines to David Adams' highly-detailed "Paddington" design, untouched since the builder's demise in 1992. Fit and finish of the parts is exceptionally good, there is minor surface rust gathered over the last twenty years in storage.
Both engines are to broadly the same stage:
Rolling chassis complete with quartered wheels, gunmetal
axleboxes, steam brake
Axle pumps complete with eccentric sheaves, straps and rods
Coupling rods made and bushed
Cylinders bored
Expansion links, radius rods, combination levers, union links, return cranks
complete
Brake hangers machined
Saddle, smokebox, chimney, petticoat pipe complete, copper chimney caps part
machined
There is a large quantity of complete, unfitted parts, several boxes of unmachined castings and two sets of drawings.
There's some pictures of the finished article in the archive.
