A Congreve clock, built to the John Wilding design with slight detail variations (and certainly nothing like the variations the same builder made in his next two "railway diorama" Congreves). These have come from the family of the late builder, not run in many years although the movement moves freely when the table is triggered.
Mesmerising to watch in action, the table providing a 30 second period pendulum. From experience of my own Congreve, they are maddeningly unreliable and hopeless timekeepers - other than that, fine clocks.
Complete with a rather nasty plastic case which needs binning.
