A new, professionally-built "Romulus", complete with tender.

Completed in March 2010, the engine has been steamed twice - once for its first boiler test, the second time when it arrived here.

Welded steel boiler with expanded tubes by Bell Boilers, CE-marked and complete with all builder's documentation, including initial twice pressure hydraulic test certificate. Twin safety valves, feed by injector and hand pump in the tender. Three cock water gauge with protector and blowdown

Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear with pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator mounted behind the nearside cylinder.

The locomotive is fitted with a mechanical brake, with a vacuum ejector, gauge and driver's brake valve for the train. The tender is fitted with a vacuum reservoir, with vacuum limiting and release valves.

Sam had this one in steam for a couple of hours last week - I was impressed by how quietly a brand new "Romulus" runs!
