Pictures opposite and words below are from 2015. It's in exactly the same condition now - the bag of coal was even in the same place in the trailer when we collected it! The commercially-built boiler by Valentine Engineering has had ultrasonic survey and hydraulic test this week, it remains in good condition.

A 6 inch scale Clayton steam wagon - a delightful thing to drive, it's quiet, powerful and has a great whistle. Can't think what else you'd need!

Welded steel boiler with expanded tubes, 150psi working pressure, feed by injector and mechanical pump driven from the crankshaft. Twin cylinder engine with slide valves actuated by Allen straight link gear, fully enclosed oil bath crankcase. An improvement over the popular 2 inch scale version of the design is a dog clutch fitted in the drive train, allowing the engine to be run out of gear.

Transmission is by a substantial chain drive to the rear axle, with differential. The engine runs on rubber tyres all round on prototypically correct cast wheels.

A well made engine, free steaming and easy to drive. It's road registered and would make a capable machine for road runs, quick and comfortable. It comes complete with a well-fitted four wheel braked road trailer with ramps and winch for loading.
