A particularly well made 3 1/2 inch gauge Black 5 to LBSC's "Doris" design - it came from the same builder as the 7 1/4 inch gauge Duchess that arrived recently.
Motionwork and valve gear are crisply made, fit and finish is good. Platework is neatly formed, rivetwork on the tender beautifully done.
It suffered superficial damage to the cab when the builder's wife attempted to move the engine in recent times - no attempt has been made to repair this. It will require the cab removing, much of the bent platework could be straightened - the rest of the engine remains in good condition.
The water gauge needs new seals - common in an engine unsteamed for some years - and the pressure gauge requires replacement with a more suitable instrument, redlined for the 80psi working pressure.
