An exceptionally well built Burrell Showmans engine, built to Ronald H Clarke's highly detailed "Thetford Town" design, around 80% complete. The work of a supremely gifted engineer - we've recently sold his GWR 51XX and Stirling Single, both built to a similar standard - this is one of six engines he built. Two were completed, four were being worked on simultaneously during the last twenty years of his life (and included the finest 9F we've seen - it was on our stand at Doncaster last weekend).

Pictures speak for themselves on this one. The motionwork is silky smooth to turn over, fit and finish of machined parts excellent, platework beautifully formed and flanged.

There are a small quantity of loose parts, including crane jib, motion covers and generating chimney, along with material for brass olivers.
