| 2 ½ inch gauge LMS 2-6-4T-stock code 3986 Sold Feb 2010 |
A part-built tank engine to LBSC’s design for an LMS
three-cylinder 2-6-4T published in “English Mechanics” in 1936 – it has
been built by a talented and prolific engineer with many engines and several
dozen boilers to his credit (including the part-built “Molly”, “Firefly”
and GWR 42xx currently in stock).
Work to date is to a good standard and comprises a rolling
chassis with gunmetal cylinders machined and fitted, lubricator beneath
footplate and much platework including cab, tanks and bunker.
There is a silver-soldered copper boiler, again built to a
good standard.
Complete with copies of the original construction articles,
a GA drawing and some builder’s notes.
Length 26 inches
