Built by a highly prolific engineer with twenty-nine locomotives to his credit at the last count (and last time I visited, a Sweet Pea just completed and a four inch scale ploughing engine coming on in the workshop next door), this is a venerable example of John Clarke's NYC&HR design for a nineteenth century 4-4-0.

The engine was running until last year, when it was stripped to investigate a leaking regulator. The regulator has been removed from the boiler and cut apart - a new one needs to be made. The rest of the bits to put it back together are present. The engine comes complete with two purpose-built carrying crates and a set of drawings. The boiler looks in good condition and carries a club hydraulic certificate to 2010.
