I was talking to Joe Nemeth the night before going to the railway - he built "James" and, whilst it might live in my shed, it's still very much his baby. "Make sure it's bulled up" was his parting remark - I didn't like to tell him it hadn't been out since coming from Oldown and, as a consequence, was covered in a good layer of dust and oil. We had a manic cleaning session on the Saturday morning - not "bulled up" to Nemeth standards, but hopefully clean enough that he won't be straight on the phone.
The club even managed to find me a colour coordinated carriage - "James the Red Engine" was a favourite on the day, there was a birthday party booking in, we must have hauled all of the kids about a dozen times.
